High-Density EMG Techniques in Neuromuscular Studies

چکیده
We would like to present the usability of High-Density surface EMG (HD-sEMG) recording for measurement of neuromuscular activities. In this mini-symposium, how to use HD-sEMG recording for physiological and morphological measurements will be shown. Particularly, significance of “dry” conditions will be mentioned.

Neuromuscular ultrasound for evaluation of the diaphragm.
Neuromuscular clinicians are often asked to evaluate the diaphragm for diagnostic and prognostic purposes. Traditionally, this evaluation is accomplished through history, physical exam, fluoroscopic sniff test, nerve conduction studies, and electromyography (EMG). Nerve conduction studies and EMG in this setting are challenging, uncomfortable, and can cause serious complications, such as pneumo...
متن کاملComparison of electromyography and kinemyography during recovery from non-depolarising neuromuscular blockade.
In this study, two commercially available quantitative neuromuscular function monitoring techniques, electromyography (EMG) and kinemyography (KMG), were compared with respect to repeatability and accuracy during late recovery from neuromuscular blockade. Train-of-four (TOF) ratios were recorded in 30 patients using KMG and EMG at the adductor pollicis muscle. Measurements were taken on the sam...

Electromyographic (EMG) signal provide a significant source of information for diagnosis, treatment and management of neuromuscular disorders.Neuromuscular diseases changes, the shape and characteristics of the motor unit action potentials (MUAPs). The MUAPs detected from myopathic patients are characterized by high frequency contents, low peak-to-peak amplitude and MUAPs neuropathic patients a...
متن کاملA Hybrid Classifier for Characterizing Motor Unit Action Potentials in Diagnosing Neuromuscular Disorders
Background: The time and frequency features of motor unit action potentials (MUAPs) extracted from electromyographic (EMG) signal provide discriminative information for diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders. However, the results of conventional automatic diagnosis methods using MUAP features is not convincing yet. Objective: The main goal in designing a MUAP characterization system ...
متن کاملAutomated Measurement of Neuromuscular Jitter Based on EMG Signal Decomposition
The quantitative analysis of decomposed electromyographic (EMG) signals reveals information for diagnosing and characterizing neuromuscular disorders. Neuromuscular jitter is an important measure that reflects the stability of the operation of a neuromuscular junction. It is conventionally measured using single fiber electromyographic (SFEMG) techniques. SFEMG techniques require substantial phy...
